What do you usually google first? Must visit places or hiddern gems?
We love to balance our travel destinations. It’s great from time to time to stay away from the popular temples to find new hidden gems. This time we were driving through Ang Thong province when we saw Wat Ban Phran on Google Maps. The yellow cute temple looked promising and we decided to see it by ourselves.
When we arrived it was no one around. It surprised us a little as this temple looked extremely adorable, reminding us of Adventure Time cartoon. For the exterior of both buildings, there were used original tiles with patterns. You can see them in the photo – all these round oval things around are hand made ceramic plates! Plus, you can say local monks look after this temple very well. Everything was tidy and clean.
We also prayed in this temple. We don’t pray every time but sometimes if it is quiet and peaceful, we just want to close our eyes and seat for a few minutes.
We came in the evening and the temple was empty. However, later the local lady that sells incense and lotus flowers came and we saw two monks nearby were sweeping the road with brooms. We haven’t seen anyone else all the time there. Perfect place for those who want to run away from a crowd.
Here you can also do a Buddhist ritual related to numbers. That time Aon did it and later won some money in a lottery. Not sure if it is connected but it was a funny coincidence.
Wat Ban Phran will perfectly fit people who want to spend some peaceful time. However, this place may be a boring destination for some tourists because there is nothing around the temple. To be honest, we don’t even think you can come here by public transport. But if you have a chance to travel by car, it can be a one day trip.

วัดบ้านพราน…เป็นวัดเก่าแก่กว่า 900 ปี (ยังไม่แน่ชัด ตามคำบอกเล่า) จนเกิดการบูรณะซ่อมแซม ที่สำคัญ คอหวยห้ามพลาด! เพราะเราถูกมาแล้ว

แปลกมาก…ไม่มีคนเลย! อากาศดี เงียบสงบ ทำให้ได้มีโอกาสไหว้หลวงพ่อไกรทองที่มีชื่อเสียงเรื่องความศักดิ์สิทธิ์มาก ซึ่งเรื่องนี้ขอยืนยัน นอนยันเลย

ตัวโบสถ์ถูกตกแต่งด้วยเครื่องเบญจรงค์มากมาย สีสันสวยสดงดงามมากๆ ไม่น่าเชื่อว่าไกลขนาดนี้จะมีวัดสวยๆแบบนี้ แค่ขับรถมาก็ได้นะ!
