Thailand is famous for its beaches and temples. There are literally thousands of both here but normally only the beaches get well explored. In fact, there may be less than 10 really famous Thai temples ♡
Thailand actually boasts almost 40,000 temples! Each of them is unique and some are incredibly unusual. In the picture, we are at a temple in Samut Prakan which sits next to Aon’s childhood home. As he grew up right there, of course, we went to explore it together ⚣☂
You may not have seen it before, but it has this particular Thai charm that some local temples have. There are many smiley old ladies around who are very friendly. A few couples with cameras and many wise monks. You can also see special family events taking place right in front of you. For example, many young men in Thailand choose to be ordained as a monk for a short period of time. This tradition is still common in Buddhist families. Aon was a monk when he was 10 years old and since then he still visits temples often. Well, now we both do! Soaking up the temple vibes has to be part of any trip to Thailand… ☼
