4 Days on Koh Kood Itinerary – What to Do and See On This Island in Thailand

We do not often travel to the islands in Thailand as it is always difficult to choose which of the 1430 islands we should visit next. As a result, we usually travel to the same islands again and again. At the end of 2020, we thought we should change our habits and start exploring the islands. We started with Koh Kood, which we both have long wanted to visit for a very long time.

Koh Kood is located in the Trat region and is considered one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand. This island can often be seen in many of the hidden gem lists on many blogs. Let’s check together if Koh Kood worth this hype at all!

1st Day

10:00 – Laem Sok Pier

We arrived at the pier at 9:30 AM, but it turned out that the boat tickets had to be booked in advance and everything was already sold out long ago. What a bummer! After a bit of shock, I told Aon to go to the ticket office and ask if there were any latecomers. Five minutes before departure, it turned out that two passengers would not be able to arrive on time due to traffic jams – when crossing regions from the red zone, nurses checked everyone’s temperature, and as a result, people stood in traffic jams for hours. But we were lucky because we were already in the region next to the pier. We got two tickets, in the end, and we drove off to the island happy.

12:00 The Sunshine Resort

The first two nights on Koh Kood we stayed at the Sunshine Resort. When we arrived at the hotel, we decided to have a relaxing day and spent time on the beach or just in front of our house, chilling with gin tonics. If you would like to know more about the Sunshine Resort, we posted a full review not long time ago.

17:00 – Sunset Time!

We chose this hotel because we knew that the nearby beach is usually not crowded. Besides this, you have a good chance to catch a very beautiful sunset from this beach. The Sunshine Resort has a huge white sand beach area which we enjoyed a lot during our first day!

2nd Day

7:30 – Breakfast

On the second day, we decided to take off the bike and set off to explore Koh Kood! But first, breakfast of champions. We were asked to wear gloves during breakfast, but we didn’t mind. The food was decent, there were several healthy options to choose from!volume_upcontent_copysharestar_border

9:00 – Waterfall

We rented a bike directly from the hotel. Our first stop was a waterfall. Even the locals could answer us if the water is at the waterfall. They say the phenomenon is very unpredictable. There was not much water during our visit, but we enjoyed climbing the giant rocks!

11:00 – Coconut Palm Plantation

We found this coconut palm plantation by accident while trying to figure out where Saphan Nam Leuk Pier is. Actually, this wasn’t a tourist spot at all. We noticed this palm plantation when we lost wandering around without a GPS signal. We had a perfect opportunity to play with our drone to take this drone shot.

πŸ’‘ Tip: On the right side of the temple, you will see the road that full of the palms!

11:30 – Saphan Nam Leuk Pier

We came to this pier to take a photo under the bridge, but due to the high tide in the middle of the day, it was not possible. Despite this, the view from the pier is amazing and we did not regret at all that we stopped by!

12:30 – Ta Pao Beach

While driving around the island, we wanted to see as many different beaches as possible. We stopped at this one to swing on the beach swing. Very beautiful beach with palm trees and almost no one.

πŸ’‘ Tip: The pinned location is the entrance of the Seafar Resort Koh Kood, which you can use to enter the beach. On Koh Kood it mostly allowed for people to enter any beach if it’s not private.

15:00 – Double palms

These double palm trees belong to the High Season Pool Villa & Spa, but there is public access to them. The double coconut tree in Thailand symbolizes good luck. Earlier, Thais also believed that such a wonder of nature protects from lightning. Thai people also believed that such a wonder of the world protects from lightning.

By the way, we suggest visiting this place in the afternoon because the water level is high in the morning, so you have to walk to this place through the sea.

πŸ’‘ Tip: We pinned on Google Map a spot for the motorbike parking. After, you have to cross the road to the beachside and walk to the right side, passing by hotels till you see double coconut palms.

17:00 – Sunset Time!

Despite having a motorcycle, we decided to watch the sunset from our hotel. We swam, relaxed, and took some pictures. It was very calm and beautiful.

What we liked was we could spend our evenings on the porch in front of our house. We usually went swimming, sunbathing, or launching a drone. When it got dark, we just spent time in front of the house, listening to music as we always take a Bluetooth speaker with us. We ordered ice at the hotel for making gin tonics, as we brought the necessary ingredients with us, but sometimes we ordered cocktails at the hotel and they were very good! In general, this resort is designed for a calm and relaxing pastime.

3rd Day

08:00 – Bridge

On our third day, we woke up early to visit the bridge of another resort. We had the good fortune to catch a time when there was no one around, so we launched the drone and some of the pictures came out very well!

After our beach morning, we went to breakfast and pack to move to Koh Kood Resort!

12:00 – Koh Kood Resort

Our last full day was very calm. At first, we wanted to rent a motorcycle again and go for a drive, but when we saw our room and the view from the beach, we decided to spend time enjoying our time at the Koh Kood Resort.

Our house was huge and all the other houses were far from each other, which helped us to enjoy privacy. There were many different types of plants around the house, too. And the whole house made out was of wood.

14:00 – The Deck Bar

The Koh Kood Resort has The Deck Bar, which is more like a beach club. We lounged on the couch in the shade and watched the sea almost all day, ordering cocktails and trying different snacks from the menu. We thought that after many active days, we deserve to be lazy.

Near the sea, you can rent kayaks or snorkeling equipment. Besides, there are very comfortable sunbeds and nets over the sea available. Koh Kood Resort has its own bridge, which also has bean bags to lie in the sun or watch the sunset.

4th Day

07:30 – Breakfast

Every fairytale comes to an end and our paradise holiday has also come to an end. We had breakfast, after which we spent the entire morning in our cottage, relaxing and enjoying the last hours of Koh Kood.

10:00 – Transfer To The Boat

We booked the boat directly from the hotel, so we were confident that we would not be late.

To be honest, we both didn’t expect to bring so many different pictures and videos from a single island! We don’t know when, but we will definitely return to Koh Kood to explore more of the incredible nature and enjoy a calm atmosphere.
