Could the world re-open for tourism by 2022? After vaccines? We don’t think travel will fully come back this year… And since there won’t be any travels for some time, we decided to take our blog deeristravelling.com hard again! Our first virtual trip is an adventure we had during roaming around Ratchaburi province in Thailand. Below you can find inspiration for your future trips, or just enjoy photos of the places in this very charming province!
Ratchaburi is one of 77 provinces of Thailand, located approximately 2-hour drive from Bangkok. It is always easy to come and get some cool pictures, plus explore local places and enjoy the friendliness of people.
Let us show some really great hidden gems places we visit during our Ratchaburi trip. Don’t forget to let us know what do you think in the comments. Are you ready? Let’s go!
09.00 AM: Bore Klueng Hot Spring
We stayed the night in a homestay nearby, which helped us to start our day early. The first spot we decided to visit was the Bore Klueng Hot Spring. We arrived at the hot springs, but then we realized that we had not taken any swimming trunks. What a bummer! Even so, we managed to soak our feet in the hot springs. And also enjoy the nature around with a magical lake in front of the bath area!

10.00 AM: Wat Huai Phak Prathanphon Temple
Do you already know that there are more than 40 thousand Buddhist temples in Thailand? They are everywhere, so when you hit a road trip by car, you can see dozens of different temples through the windows. And, of course, it is impossible to stop and look at each of them. We noticed Wat Huai Phak Prathanphon on our way to the hot springs because of the bright staircase. We weren’t in a hurry and decided to stop by on the way back. When we arrived at the temple, there was not a single person here. We went up the stairs to see the view, which was quite good. If you are traveling by car and want to take some vibrant pictures for Instagram, we think it is worth a stop.

10.30 AM: CAFÉ VAN, Camping CAR
Traveling in Thailand is never complete without coffee! Ratchaburi in this regard will delight coffee lovers because there are a lot of interesting coffee places here. We didn’t even look for anything particular in advance and just stopped to buy coffee on the way without expecting anything special. Quite by accident, we stopped at an amazing Café Van. The place is very cozy and the owner brews coffee right inside his camping car. We had Irish coffee and rested a bit in this place, and bought take away Americano and Latte.

11.30 AM: Khao Bin Cave
While we were driving in Ratchaburi province, we decided to visit the Khao Bin Cave. We didn’t expect anything special, but we ended up walking inside the caves for a very long time! So long that they came out in absolutely wet shirts – if you remember, in caves it is often very stuffy and humid air. We were surprised by all these bends, so we walked around every path anyway!
Tham Khao Bin is a beautiful natural cave located at Tambon Hin Kong, Muang District, Ratchaburi. Its peak is 272 meters above sea level, the cave entrance is 10 meters high, with an area of over 5 rai in the cave. The interior of the cave decorated with various colored lights, which makes you see the beauty of the stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, and stalactites that are born clearly and beautifully.
There are 8 different zones inside the Khao Bin Cave. We must say that the best option would be to come and see everything with your own eyes. Because coming to the cave is like fantasy and each person may look at the stones differently. For us it was very interesting and unusual, we even felt like we were roaming the world of the Lord of the Rings!

12.30 AM: Baan Arharn-Thai (บ้านอาหารไทย)
To be honest, we didn’t google any place for lunch in advance and in the end found this restaurant because of the sign on the way. We turned off the main road and unexpedtly arrived at this huge restaurant in the middle of rice fields! We ordered a spicy tom yam with seafood, fried fishcakes, and their signature dish – Pad Thai Seafood WITHOUT noodles. For dessert, we were gifted a coconut pudding and slices of fresh watermelon. We were pleased with our food, but even more we liked how this restaurant is blown by the wind and even in the middle of a hot day, we were very comfortable taking a break to travel further!

14.00 AM: Tao Hong Tai ceramics factory
We thought that the ceramics factory did not sound like the most exciting place to travel, but decided to stop by Tao Hong Tai Ceramics Factory anyway. And absolutely not regret it in the end. In this place, there is a huge number of various vases, as well as places for taking photos with various ceramic decorations. Do not be afraid to come here, because the place is open to visitors and the factory has a coffee shop with a very beautiful garden. In addition, when we arrived there was an exhibition of a photographer with his views of the seasons in Japan. It was very unexpected, but we loved this surprise!

15.30 AM: Street Art at Cat Town
We visit a coffee shop, in which all chairs and tables are made of ceramics, and we also found a building with more or less interesting Street Art! The place located in the downtown part of Ratchaburi near most of the attractions! For example, after this place you can easily walk to try a massage right on the river bank while half laying in a comfortable armchair. There is a local famous market near by as well, where you can have dinner or buy some local snacks.

Ratchaburi province surprised us! We expected another average province in Thailand, but in fact, we liked that this area combines local culture with modern vibes. In comparison, such places are quite rare in Thailand, so we enjoyed our hidden gem find!
