Are you pick a spot and chill or travel and explore a type of traveler?
For us, we prefer to explore new adventurous places that are a bit unexpected. This time we went to explore an abandoned building that is famous for its street art. It located in Taiwan’s second most populous city, Taichung.
The residents and businesses were moving out of the Qianyue building in the early 90-s. There was a fire in 2005 that ravaged the nightclub on the seventh floor as well. Since then, this spot became a mecca for underground and experimental art as well as a bucket list for all the street-art lovers (like us!)
When we came, Aon was so scared because we climb through devastation and ruins for quite some time. The first five stories were dark and it looked like the building was abandoned for a very long time. However, we still went a few floors up and discovered the area with a lot of street art and graffiti!
There are still some offices inside but mostly the building is in ruins with random arts here and there. We met other visitors along the way, too. Many young people come here to take photos. You can easily walk around for a few hours and even walk up to the roof on the 13th floor for some stunning landscapes.
Get ready to go through the ruins of garbage, empty spray cans, and mountains of trash. The place is not for everyone, but very interesting. We accidentally came here during the golden hour and our pictures turned to be very colorful this time! Later on the roof, we met a foreigner who was recording a video with sunset. Everyone on our way was friendly but you have to be careful here. We wouldn’t, for example, recommend you to come here at night alone.
We roamed the floors for a long time. We then have found a long corridor that had many different rooms some of which were unlocked. We went inside, one of the rooms was painted in black and white stripes, the other room was all bright pink, but very dark inside. We felt a bit creepy but in the end, we were so happy and satisfied to discover this Taiwanese hidden gem. What do you guys think?

สถานที่นี้เรียกว่า the Qianyue Building หลังจากที่เกิดเหตุไฟไหม้ที่ชั้น 7 ซึ่งเป็นไนท์คลับช่วงปี 90 ทำให้ผู้คนเริ่มย้ายออก 🌑🌚 จนปัจจุบันได้พัฒนา เป็นแหล่งแสดงงานศิลปะสำหรับกลุ่มวัยรุ่นที่ชอบไปปีนตึก เสพย์งานศิลปะกันอย่างสร้างสรรค์

ตอนนั้นเราไม่ได้ค้นหาข้อมูลมา และเนื่องจากไม่มั่นใจเรื่องราวของตึกนี้ เพราะเดินเจอกันโดยบังเอิญ…แว๊บแรก เอาว่ะ ลองเข้าไปดู ทางเข้าค่อนข้างน่ากลัว ไม่มีคนอยู่ข้างหน้าที่เหมือนทางเข้า…ซึ่งจะมีเขียนว่า Escape Plan x…

เดินขึ้นบันไดไปเรื่อยๆ จะเริ่มพบกับทางเข้า….พร้อมไฟนำทางที่พาไปยังงานศิลปะที่อยู่ทั่วทุกมุมตึก ไม่ว่าจะเดินไปทางไหน มันคืองานศิลปะหมดเลย!

ด้วยความที่เป็นอพาร์ทเม้นขนาดใหญ่ ห้องส่วนใหญ่ถูกดัดแปลงเป็นห้องแสดงศิลปะ ยิ่งปีขึ้นไปสูงขึ้นเรื่อยๆก็ยิ่งพบกับ graffiti ทั่วทุกมุมตึก 🎭🎴ยันดาดฟ้า ที่สามารถปีนขึ้นไปดูวิวพระอาทิตย์ตกที่….โคตรสวย!
