Do you like rooftop restaurants? Where was your best rooftop restaurant experience ever?
During our staycation at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, we decided to arrange a date at a restaurant overlooking Bangkok at night from the 37th floor. We don’t go to rooftop restaurants very often, so we knew our night would be special.
The Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant is famous for its authentic French cuisines. Another highlight here is the top quality imported beef steaks. We have to admit that we have eaten good steaks for a long time because good beef is rare in Thailand. Plus we dreamed of seafood for the last few days, in this restaurant we managed to satisfy all our needs. But first, let us tell you about our first impression.
When we first entered, we saw many certificates on the wall, including the Michelin. Then we walked down to the main hall, we saw the chef scrupulously preparing the grill in the open kitchen. As we mentioned earlier, the menu focuses on French cuisines with the original recipes as well as the beef steaks. The restaurant’s cheese menu is quite diverse, with a display counter for customers to choose from.
There are both indoor and outdoor zones. Places overlooking the city at night are very popular among local folks, so a table on the balcony should be reserved in advance. As we had a reservation in advance, we enjoyed our dinner with a beautiful panoramic view of Silom Road.
The restaurant managers were very friendly and caring. For a long time, we did not know what to order, but they patiently prompted and told us about the dishes. We ended up ordering the following treats for our dinner:
- La Cote de Boeuf 1 kg
- Le Crabe Royal d’Alaska
- Risotto Truffle fresh asparagus and Mushroom
- Oysters Fine de Claire No.4
- Chocolate Profiteroles
- Chocolate Fondant
We loved the food a lot! We selected dishes for the whole evening to have a variety to choose from, it was not boring and delicious! The signature dish of the evening was the La Cote de Boeuf meat 1 kg. Dry-aged Australian Wagyu was delivered in a huge wooden box and served with Bearnaise, Black pepper & Blue cheese sauce, potato wedges. The oysters were very fresh and the sauce complimented the flavor perfectly. There is a real good promotion at the moment for the oysters’ lovers, on Tuesday from 5 pm you can get amazing fresh oysters Fine de Claire No.4 directly from the French coasts for just $1 each. The Alaskan King Crab prepared as a salad with Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, mango, avocado. A very colorful dish with a rich taste and vibrant presentation. The Risotto Truffle fresh asparagus and mushroom tasted great too! We enjoyed mixing flavors, it was fun to eat and enjoy such a great view together.
And when it seemed to us that nothing could surprise us this evening, they brought us desserts! We absolutely did not expect that we are still able to eat something, but as soon as we took a bite of our desserts, we immediately had a second wind. Among the many sweets, we preferred to try the Chocolate Profiteroles and the Chocolate Fondant. It was not only delicious but beautiful as well: the warm chocolate sauce over the chocolate plate on top of the Chocolate Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream in puff pastry was especially well presented and eye-catching. The Chocolate Fondant had less of the show but the taste absolutely amazed us! So be sure to order the dessert if you come to dine at the Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant.
Our special date was a success. We not only had a great time but also tasted amazing food with a great view of Bangkok at night. The cozy atmosphere and calm music gave us a few hours of real relaxing rest. After such a hospitable welcome and delicious food, we can’t wait to visit the Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant again!
